I just spent the last hour pouring my heart out on a post about The Coalition's Southern California Conservative Pastors Roundtable event today ... and when I went to publish it a big red box appeared on my blog screen saying that there was an error and everything dissapeared!!! Yeah, I know, what the heck!
So I talked to one of my main bloggosphere men Eric, and he said it has happened to him more than a few times. So now he just saves it in a word document and cuts and pastes it into the blog and then adds the links after. So smart, and yet so untimely for me to learn this information now. Ouch.
Needless to say I want to tell you all about the spiritually and emotionally moving day today, but I'm too annoyed to try to recreate the missing masterpiece that was my former, now deleated post. Drat! :(

LOL!!! D'oh!
Yes, I HATE when that happens! Right before you post, to the right of the Publish Post/Save Now buttons, it'll say a lil message indicating that blogger is not connected and that anything not saved won't be published. It's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. If you don't see the message, you're likely connected and all is fine. But it tends to fluctuate every so often.
I've lost many a long long heart-felt post so sometimes, i'll highlight everything and copy it to the clipboard before hitting the publish button. If i'm really paranoid, I'll paste it in Word first too! But of course, you can always save your draft as you go.
LOL, but I know none of this alleviates the pain of losing the original post (which is always the best! the rewrite is never as good.) And so to have to write it all over again...it's like:
"Don't taze me bro!" =P
I loved hanging out with you today!
Bless you bro!
Eric
I guess it's just the perils of learning how to do the blog? After sleeping on it a night I feel better this morning, although still sour! But with your love and your willingness to not taze me, as a brother, I feel like I can make it through this difficult period.
You're the best!
"To err is human..."
But to really screw things up you need a computer!
Not only do you need to save your blog entries on a document, but you need to save your documents on a third party platform. Because after all, we all know that computers CRASH!
An easy way is to create a Yahoo e-mail address that you use just for this purpose. Every once in a while back up all your documents. It is also handy because if you ever need access to one of these documents you can do so from any computer, anywhere.
I love it! It's so funny how much you can learn from others who have gone before! Thanks for the tip ... I'm going to do that. :)
well... would you imagine that... as I tried to publish my response to your issue... I had an error while trying to authenticate my identity... and my comment just got lost!
ARGH!!!
lol... this is why I love my Wordpress Blog!!!
Now I just spent the past 20 minutes getting an OpenID set up so I don't have to go through so many loops when I'm leaving you comments! =0)
humm... now I'm just trying to get my picture to show up next to my posts like yours! ;-)
